Even though spring is on hold, we have been busy planning for our Fifth Annual Corporate Kickball Tournament, which will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 from noon to 5 p.m. at LaFollette Park.
We plan to raise more than $50,000 (10% of our fundraising budget) this year to support Playworks programming in our partner schools. This year, Playworks is impacting 10,200 children in 20 schools. For each school that has a full-time Playworks Coach, we must fundraise $30,000. Another way to look at this is $50,000 raised allows us to bring our part-time model called TeamUp to eight schools.
Twelve teams will compete in this year’s tournament, and seven slots have already been filled by these partners: Children’s Hospital, Kohl’s, Baird, Waterstone Bank, Chicago Title Company, One America Retirement Services, and Aurora.
How you can get involved and help us reach our goal:
- Ask your company to sponsor a team of employees. The entry fee is $2,500
- Make a donation in any amount as a sponsor
- Purchase tickets for $50 each and come be a cheerleader
- Help promote Playworks and the tournament via your social media
