Ms. Meshia Honored as Educator of the Month

  1. Updates

Every month, Playworks Wisconsin nominates and votes for an Educator of the Month. In February, the award went to Ms. Meshia at Lloyd Barbee Montessori School.

Coach Mychaela, who nominated Ms. Meshia for the award, wrote about Ms. Meshia’s embodiment of the Playworks mission:

“Ms. Meshia is an amazing play champion. While she doesn’t have recess duty, she is consistently lively and encouraging during all of our game times and does an amazing job of embodying our four core values. She helps to create a welcoming and encouraging environment for both of the classes she assists with. Her kindergarten class is one of Barbee’s best behaving classes and she regularly encourages their creativity during our Game Lab sessions. She is also a fierce Game Time participant, using the exact right amount of competitiveness and enthusiasm to get even our most uninterested upper elementary students to participate. Her enthusiasm and encouragement, along with kind and supportive words to students, help her to embody each of our core values and make her an excellent nomination for our Educator of the Month.”

Coach Mych presented Ms. Meshia with the award last week. We are honored to serve alongside such dedicated educators and we love to see teachers making play work for their classroom. Thank you for promoting Playworks values, Ms. Meshia–you rock!
