Celebrating our Volunteers!

  1. Updates

This year, Playworks Wisconsin has been lucky to have over 50 volunteers in counting!

April 24April 28 is National Volunteer Week. Volunteers play a very important role in the success of our programming. They bring their expertise, ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to create a safe, fun place for students to play every day. Our largest volunteer partners are Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Thanks to these partnerships, we can reach more kids and create more meaningful connections with every student.

Meet one of our incredible volunteers, Emma.

Emma is currently a senior at Marquette University studying corporate communications and marketing and will be joining Aerotek next year as a recruiter. She has proven to be a rockstar volunteer at Pierce Elementary, helping out at recess. Every Tuesday, Emma greets students with a smile and a high-five, hula hoops, runs relays, turns jump rope, and creates a fun, inviting environment.

Q & A with Emma:

In one word, how would your friends, family, or colleagues describe you?  Outgoing.

When, where and what was the first place you ever participated as a volunteer? Milwaukee Women’s Center.

What motivates you to volunteer? Smiles

What have you found most inspiring during your volunteer work with Playworks? All the laughter and friendly faces.

What do you wish people knew about Playworks? How rewarding it is to play with kids and make their recess a safe, fun, and exciting place.
