Senator Ron Johnson’s Office Visits Playworks!

  1. Updates

Earlier this month, Kris McHenry, Regional Director of Southeast Wisconsin from the Office of Senator Ron Johnson, visited Hartford University School. The Playworks Wisconsin team enjoyed the opportunity to share more about Playworks and our approach to improving school climate and the promotion of pro-social behaviors through safe and inclusive play-based activity.

Last winter, Playworks Wisconsin Executive Director, Kristina Olkowski, travelled to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness about Playworks in Wisconsin and the schools we serve. Kristina met congressional representatives and members from the offices of Congresswoman Moore, Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin and Representative Ron Kind to talk about the importance of school recess. Kristina was excited that just this month one representative of the members of congress took her up on her offer and came to Wisconsin took up her offer to visit a Playworks school.

High fives to Senator Johnson’s office for being the first to visit one of our schools and see first-hand the important role we play in transforming our schools and communities!
