Robert W. Baird Comes to Play!

  1. Updates

Playworks Wisconsin would like to thank the employees at Robert W. Baird for joining us last week on the Hamlin Garland School playground. The Baird Corporate Play Day started with some fun team-building activities, followed by a brief training. In this training, participants learned the playground games and conflict resolutions strategies they would see at recess. Then Baird employees were off to recess to engage with elementary students through Four Square, Hula Hoop Tag, Hot Shot Soccer, Basketball Champion and Challengers and Kickball.

Employees witnessed first-hand the impact that safe, meaningful and inclusive play has at recess. One participant stated, “The fact that everyone can play, skill set aside, really made recess a productive time to learn.” Another participant added, “Playworks’ positive reinforcement was very evident, resulting in positive interactions between the kids. It’s great to see the difference that a high five and a smile can make to a kid.”
