Mrs. Munch, Educator of the Month

  1. Updates

Congratulations to Mrs. Munch, this month’s Playworks Educator of the Month. Mrs. Munch teaches first grade at Hi-Mount Community School where she encourages kids to get in the game!

Mrs. Munch isn’t afraid to get silly and play the games with her students at recess and class game time. She takes pride in her students, which fuels her students to take pride in themselves and their classroom community. In Mrs. Munch’s classroom, when a student has a great day, everyone celebrates. If a student is having a difficult day, everyone rallies around that person with encouragement. Even though her class has disagreements (that they solve with ro-sham-bo), they appreciate each other and work as a team.

Mrs. Munch teaches her first graders the Playworks core values of respect, inclusion, healthy play, and healthy community. Her students model her behavior at recess and during class game times. This behavior helps her students include everyone in both classroom activities and recess games. Because of Mrs. Munch, these first graders are also taking their skills into their neighborhoods, creating a healthier community!
