General Mills Comes to Play

  1. Updates

Playworks joined the General Mills senior leadership team and advisory board member Jamie Burrell for an energizing afternoon of play provided by the Playworks Corporate Recess Program. Burrell recognized the Corporate Recess opportunity as a positive and encouraging way to close a great day of  professional development training for her employees. Following their morning and early afternoon of specialized training provided by General Mills, Playworks Program Director Dan Schiller, and Program Manager David Anderson, lea the group through a series of games to promote key skills such as trust, collaboration, teamwork, empathy, and conflict resolution that will help the group perform more cohesively as a team at General Mills. Employees played games such as Shipwreck, Treasure Hunt, Paparazzi Tag, 3 Line Ultimate Ball, and more!

“I was surprised that Playworks was able to engage an adult population in fun, enjoyable kids activities and the activities were geared to work with a variety of personalities,” said Burrell.

Another participant summed up the purpose of Corporate Recess by stating, “This opportunity was important because it was a nice break from the work environment, we had a good time with our team leaders, and now we know our co-workers much better.” It was a successful event that proves there is no better way to energize your employees than with an afternoon of play!
