Milwaukee Hosts Mid-Year Pre-Service

  1. Updates

Milwaukee was honored to host Playworks staff in a mid-year pre-service for national and local coaches starting mid-year. Coaches came from Baltimore, Washington DC, New York, the Bay Area, Chicago and Albuquerque. National team members from Oakland along with staff from Playworks Chicago made the journey to Milwaukee, to help guide the new coaches through their training and healthy dose of play.

The new coaches had a chance to learn about Playworks as well as an array of new games which made the training days exciting and fun!  The new coaches learned the Playworks culture from seasoned Playworks employees. They also had the chance to try out their new skills on the recess yard at Brown Street Elementary, where coaches initiated games of Cookie Monster, Splat and Mr Fox, among others. The coaches also had time to brush up on their four square skills, share best practices and network with each other.

Milwaukee was excited to host national staff and new coaches. Hosting pre-service was the perfect kick-off to launching programming in Milwaukee Public Schools in 2012.
