Coach Josh has been crowned October’s Corps Member of the Month. Last year, Coach Josh was featured as an outstanding IT at East Sandy Elementary, where he ran the Playworks program with Site Coordinator Coach Jolley. This year as a full-time AmeriCorps Member at Woodrow Wilson Elementary, he has created an engaged community that is fully committed to Playworks’ core values. His Junior Coaches permeate the school community not only at recess but throughout the school day, helping with lunch and much more. Read on to find out more about him.

What is your favorite sport?

Hockey

Tell us something fun/interesting about yourself.

I started ice skating at age 2. When I stopping playing hockey, I realized I wanted to pass on all that I learned from the game, such as teamwork and accountability.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show?

Big Bang Theory

What are you most excited for this school year?

I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a role model for the students and give them the support they need to succeed. My goal is to help each student find strengths and abilities that make them unique.
