August Corps Member of the Month: Coach Amariah

Playworks Utah is kicking off our new school year with a new Corps Member of the Month. Coach Amariah has been awarded the honor of the Golden Trophy for the month of August. As a Corps Member last year, Coach Amariah rocked programming at Bell View Elementary and this year she explores new horizons as our Flex Coach. The true embodiment of a Flex Coach, she was an amazing resource for new and returning coaches alike throughout our intensive 2-week preservice training. Her innovative ideas and insights into program details are sure to be a boone for all of our current coaches as she visits their schools throughout the year. I am left handed and I have two dogs.

What are your favorite activities outside of Playworks?

Walking/playing with my dogs, disc golf, swimming, and watching Hulu or Netflix.

Tell us about a defining moment in your life.

Graduating college was a real defining moment in my life. I know it is for most people, but growing up with a teen mom was hard. The day I graduated college made all the difference in the world in my life. If I can get through my childhood and college, I can do anything.
