Playworks Partners with AEG for a 200 Volunteer Service Day

  1. Updates

Two hundred volunteers dedicated their time to support kids in their community at Playworks Southern California partner schools to celebrate the 12th Annual AEG Service Day. Each year AEG looks for impactful ways to engage with their local communities, and through our partnership their staff can make school campuses a more colorful place to learn and play.

AEG hosts their annual service day at two of our partner schools, Jefferson Elementary in Paramount Unified School District and 49th Street Elementary in Los Angeles Unified School District. Volunteers from AEG’s Corporate Office, Crypto.com Arena, AEG Presents and L.A. Live venues including LA Kings and LA Galaxy Street Teams came together in playground transformation projects and experienced the power of play throughout recess. Volunteers came together, rolled up their sleeves to refurbish teacher lounges, assemble gardening beds, painting positive affirmations throughout the school, and wrapping gifts for teachers and staff. In addition to these projects, each school was presented with a $10,000 check to further support the school’s needs.

In partnering with AEG, we were able to center school needs based on play to leave a bigger impact on our youth and future community leaders. More importantly, the Playworks Junior Coach program, we were able to have 40 Junior Coaches between each school site lead recess alongside Playworks staff and 200 volunteers.

Through this continued partnership, volunteers brought their game-face and were ready to leave a joyful impact while experiencing recess. Moreover, thank you AEG for joining the Junior Coaches and students on the playground to amplify play.
