  1. Updates

Sponsored by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation and with support from Duke University Project BUILD, Playworks North Carolina hosted a Recess Paint with our partner school, Merrick Moore Elementary. This community service project had volunteers playing and learning by creating a safe play space, helping the school look beautiful and ready for a new school year!

Playworks North Carolina conducted a Recess Paint at Merrick Moore Elementary School in Durham.

This community service project was sponsored by a grant awarded to Playworks from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, a foundation that is committed to keeping North Carolina communities active and healthy.

This event also engaged with Duke University Project BUILD where more than 20 student volunteers along with Playworks Coaches painted dodgeball and four square courts, boundaries, and added color to the asphalt, transforming the space into a vibrant and safe area for play.

By the end of the day, we were able to create a safe, inclusive space that encourages physical activity, learning and conflict resolutions skills!
