Coaches Get Literal at World Book Night

  1. Updates

Playworks Durham program coordinators recently distributed more than  200 chapter books to every Junior Coach from all 15 Durham partner schools. Playworks Durham was selected as a giver for World Book Night 2013, a non-profit group that hopes to spread the love of reading to all ages!

All of our Junior Coaches were given the book “Middle School: The Worse Years of My Life” by James Patterson, a children’s choice author of the year. Many of the Junior Coaches began reading the books the minute the coaches gave them out and started asking if they were going to discuss the book at the next Junior Coach training!

Playworks Durham was given enough books that the office has a set to pass around next year when we implement the Junior Coach Leadership Program which will take place after school.
