Junior Coaches at Salesforce!

  1. Updates

On November 14, 2018 at Salesforce West in San Francisco, we hosted a brand new learning experience for professionals and elementary school students alike. We brought together Playworks Junior Coaches, the Salesforce User Experience team, and a host of guests for deep discussion, fun games, and a career panel focused on the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. We are so grateful to all who participated!

Highlights from the day included:

  • Teams of Junior Coaches sharing their insight from playground leadership and collaborating with the Salesforce community to craft empathy-centered solutions to day-to-day workplace challenges.
  • The Salesforce DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Council answering questions from Junior Coaches on the experience of working at a tech company through a DEI lens.
  • Playing together throughout the day, including a rousing game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, SPLIT!

This unique come-together moment forwards a commitment to bridge the gap between corporations and community. Our vision is that low-income students and students of color will feel that they belong in all environments. We loved watching our Junior Coaches bloom throughout the day and become comfortable in an unfamiliar space.

Looking forward, we will continue this initiative and do our part to empower our community’s youth. If you are interested in bringing a similar event to your workplace or partnering with Playworks in another way, please let us know!
