10-Year Anniversary of Get Fit hosted by JaVale Mcgee

  1. Updates

In order to mark the 10-year anniversary milestone of the Get Fit initiative, Kaiser Permanente, Playworks, and the Warriors enlisted the help of Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee.

During Get Fit events, students in Playworks’ partner schools take a “time-out” to learn about healthy behavior—and of course, play! For the Get Fit 10th anniversary, McGee joined Playworks for basketball, yoga, and dance clinics at Futures Elementary School in Oakland.

The importance of physical fitness was the main focus of the day. Youth also learned about the importance of eating healthy by reducing their sugar intake and consuming fruits and vegetables.

Playworks is proud to be a partner with Kaiser Permanente and the Golden State Warriors and looks forward to another 10 years of the Get Fit initiative.
