Laurel Elementary Receives a Visit from the Oakland Raiders and Playworks for a Play 60 Event

Dodgeball and flag football were both part of the festivities that took place during a NFL Play 60 Event at Laurel Elementary School in Oakland, CA. Giorgio Tavecchio, placekicker for the Raiders, and Shilique Calhoun, a linebacker for the Raiders, were among the NFL participants who came out to encourage the power of play. They were joined by Oakland Raiderettes and mascot, Raider Rusher.

Play 60 is a partnership between Playworks, other youth organizations, and all 32 of the teams that make up the NFL. The goal of the program is to encourage the youth to be more physically active by getting at least 60 minutes of play every day.
