Playworks’ Second Annual Run for Recess Was a Stunning Success!

  1. Updates

Due to the support and participation of the entire San Francisco Playworks community, our Second Annual Run for Recess 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run was a fantastic success!

We could not have been blessed with more perfect weather: warm rays from the early morning sun burned through the remaining fog, providing us with excellent race conditions on that April morning.

It was delightful to see Run for Recess as not only a race but as a true community event.  Families, pets, principals, and entire teams of junior coaches played together and fun-filled memories were created while pursuing an actively healthy lifestyle. Golden Gate Park buzzed with the unmistakable screams of excited children as they enjoyed the Slip ‘N Slide, potato sack races, and dodgeball games.

Thank you to all who shared the event with friends and family. Our community support brought hundreds of runners from all over the Bay Area.  This allowed us to raise thousands of dollars to support school programming in 26 schools across San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula.
