Record turnout for Junior Coach Conferences!

  1. Updates

Playworks Junior Coaches – those 4th and 5th grade students best known for wearing bright purple shirts on the playground – came out in full force for a pair of Junior Coach Conferences in early March. The conferences are a celebration of these young leaders, who make their schools and communities better places by helping run games and solve conflicts at their schools.

The above photo is from the Playworks Junior Coach Conference on March 3rd, 2010 – 300 Junior Coaches from 31 schools in Oakland, Berkeley, and Alameda braved the elements (it was hailing!) to get to Cesar Chavez Education Center in Oakland for an amazing afternoon of games and activities to celebrate these amazing young leaders.

Below are some pictures from the March 10th, 2010 Junior Coach Conference at Lincoln Elementary School in Richmond, which had a record 125 Junior Coaches in attendance – on a much nicer, sunnier day!

Finally, we'd like to give a huge, HUGE thank you to all of the Playworks Program Coordinators for bringing their Junior Coaches to the conferences!
