Playworks has been named a Classy Awards Finalist, one of the 100 most innovative nonprofits and social enterprises of 2017!
“We’re excited to be a finalist for the Classy Awards and are thankful for the consideration of the Classy Awards Leadership Council,” said Playworks Founder Jill Vialet.
Our organization went through a rigorous and intensive application process and was judged using stringent criteria. Playworks, along with the 99 other Finalists, is now in the running to become a Winner!
“The Classy Awards has become one of the top forums for recognizing global social innovation,” said Pat Walsh, Co-Founder and Chief Impact Officer of Classy. “Classy Awards Finalists are pioneering innovative ideas and technologies addressing some of our greatest social problems, and we’re honored to play a role in recognizing their incredible accomplishments.”
So what’s next? Becoming a Classy Awards Finalist means we’ll be attending the Collaborative, a large social innovation event in Boston this summer! We’ll be meeting and mingling with some amazing folks, like leaders from the United Nations Foundation, Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Action Against Hunger, Google and more. The 3-day event ends with the awards ceremony, where the 10 Winners are announced live on stage in a surprise celebration. And we will continue to innovate and grow. We’re well on our way toward accomplishing our AIM, our goal of reaching 3.5 million kids in 7,000 schools by December 2020.

ABOUT THE CLASSY AWARDS
The Classy Awards is the largest awards ceremony of its kind recognizing excellence in social innovation. The yearlong initiative identifies and evaluates organizations addressing hundreds of social problems around the world. The winners are determined by the Classy Awards Leadership Council, an honorary board of leaders and experts whose unique perspective and valuable insight establishes this recognition as one of the highest honors in the social sector. The Classy Awards are the culminating event of the Collaborative, which takes place June 13-15, 2017 in Boston’s Innovation District.
