Junior Coach Ami Makes Excellent Happen

  1. Updates

Junior Coach Ami is a student at the Gardner Pilot Academy (GPA) in Allston with Coach Jenny. Ami leads with her friendly personality, her sense of humor, and by always showing her GPA core values. She has attended almost every training session all year long, and she comes to Junior Coach meetings ready to actively participate in the lesson. She always shows up for her recess duty when Coach Jenny is expecting her, and has worked hard to encourage participation to make foursquare a popular game at third grade recess. She is a hard-working and responsible student, and she rarely has to be reminded to follow the Junior Coach group agreement or recess expectations.

During the month of March, Ami was an amazing role model for all third graders during recess. She taught and lead games in a kind and engaging way, modeled peace on earth at the end of recess, and gathered equipment from her game and others when it was time to go inside. When she noticed kids having conflicts or not doing peace on earth and then lining up, she pulled them aside and gently reminded them of their expectations. With her incredible dedication to being a Junior Coach and her enthusiasm to be a leader at her school, we know Ami will continue to make excellent happen throughout the Playworks community.
