Playworks Indiana 2020-2021 Impact Report

  1. Updates

For over 20 years, Playworks has given kids foundational skills for success on the playground, in the classroom, and in the community. We are the leading organization that leverages play to promote healthy behaviors and increase social and emotional learning, at recess and throughout the school day.

During this last school year, we were all faced with new challenges brought on by the pandemic and had to constantly adapt to changing instructional environments. As we endured a year of pandemic learning with our school partners, Playworks remained committed to creating learning environments where all students are included and have the opportunity to be physically active while developing key social-emotional skills, like cooperation and conflict resolution. These skills are more essential than ever in helping kids combat the stress and anxiety of the pandemic and experience joy again, all through the power of play.

Despite the challenges of pandemic learning, Playworks ensured more than 48,000 children in 134 Indiana elementary schools and youth organizations experienced safe, healthy, and inclusive play this past school year.  As we embark on the new school year here in Indiana, there is a lot to be celebrated! Playworks Indiana is proud to share our 2020-2021 Indiana Impact Report
