Join us for the eighth annual Playworks Run for Recess, a family friendly 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 20th. The Run for Recess offers opportunities for the whole family to get involved at Franklin Park’s world-famous cross-country course adjacent to the zoo! All participants will enjoy a fun family environment, an electronically timed race, and an awesome goodie bag. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers, as well as certificates for all age and gender categories.
This year, we are excited to be partnering with Positive Tracks for the third year running!
Positive Tracks is a national, sports-based youth development organization that helps young people get active and give back. Positive Tracks partners with the Run for Recess to help youth participants sweat for good for Playworks New England.
Positive Tracks Coordinator, Karleen Herbst, helps kids raise funds and awareness for Playworks by providing hands-on support, fundraising tips, team building tools, and creative event ideas to help youth find a starting line.
Best news is: Dollars raised by Playworks Run For Recess participants ages 23 and under are matched by Positive Tracks. It’s double the dollars; double the fitness; double the fun!
