New Balance Partners with  MLB Athletes and Playworks to Launch Six-Week SparkStart Fitness Challenge

Featuring NB Baseball athletes and facilitated in conjunction with Playworks, a non-profit leveraging the power of play to transform children’s social and emotional health, over a thousand students across the nation will participate in the 2016 New Balance SparkStart Fitness Challenge.

The New Balance SparkStart Fitness Challenge will be focused on achieving goals around physical activity. Over a span of 6 weeks, this program will motivate and inspire kids with weekly challenges with hands-on participation by a team of Playworks coaches, NB Baseball athletes, parents, teachers and supporters who believe in the power of play.

Chris Granderson of the New York Mets kicks it off in New York and challenges Boston Red Sox player Xander Bogaerts. From Boston to Los Angeles, AJ Ellis of the LA Dodgers accepts the challenge and passes to Matt Duffy of the San Francisco Giants. Maikel Franco of the Philadelphia Phillies accepts Duffy’s challenge and hits it to Jose Abreu of the Chicago White Sox.

It’s all about movement! See the Social Spark online or on social media at #nbsparkstartfc.
