‘1, 2, 3 Eyes on Me’ isn’t just a chant—it’s a game-changer for group management. Discover how this phrase sparked playful discussions and valuable insights at the AZCase Conference!
The AZCase Conference is more than an annual professional gathering for educators, youth workers, and community leaders from cities across Arizona; it’s a hub of inspiration and growth for Out-of-School Time (OST) professionals who dedicate themselves to uplifting youth beyond the classroom.
Among the impactful sessions offered, Playworks presented the ‘1, 2, 3 Eyes on Me!’ workshop, a hands-on experience led by Briana Zive, Program Specialist, and Rhett Etherton, Regional Partnership Manager, to over 75 enthusiastic participants.
The approach of this workshop went beyond traditional methods by inviting attendees to practice these techniques firsthand through PLAY! From the high-energy relationship-building game Partner-to-Partner to the engaging Fly-By Tag, participants were able to visualize and practice group management techniques, filling the room with excitement, laughter, and connection.
At the start of the training, it was all about ‘Eyes on Briana and Rhett’ as they were providing the tools and resources. By the end, it transformed into ‘Eyes on You,’ empowering each participant with the skills and confidence to apply these strategies in their own programs. OST professionals left the workshop with valuable insights on how to engage and inspire youth in Arizona, igniting creativity and enthusiasm for their unique sites.
After the workshop, we received some fantastic feedback from participants including:
“Great workshop! The information presented can easily be implemented in my work.” – participant
“I learned a lot and I’m excited to take this information back to my program!” – participant
By empowering these dedicated individuals with effective group management skills, Playworks is helping create a ripple effect that will impact youth programs across Arizona. The AZCase Conference once again demonstrated its role in fostering growth and positive change, and Playworks was proud to be part of the event, continuing its mission to bring the power of play and positive engagement to every child across the state.
